Meet Our Vets

Peter Scott, BVSc
Peter is a Massey University Veterinary graduate from the class of ’86, who brings over thirty years of experience to the team. Peter began his career with five years working in mixed practice in Hamilton before serving Wanganui’s veterinary needs from 1991 onwards. 

Peter has interest in small animal medicine, surgery, reproduction and alpacas. Peter is an avid follower of vet turned author James Herriot, whose work comes to mind when attending to farm animals on dark and stormy nights around the region. 

Peter throws himself into small animal medicine and especially enjoys the challenge of diagnostic dilemmas, gathering the evidence and trying to pinpoint the likely culprit.

Peter is Wanganui’s only MPI certified animal exportation Veterinarian.

Meet Our Vet Nurses

HEAD VET NURSE
​Bridget, RVN,  VA

Bridget qualified in 2012, and has a vast amount of experience in Emergency and Critical Care.
Bridget has worked overseas in South Africa before settling in New Zealand. She has a passion for gold standard patient care, low stress handling and helping nurses grow within the nursing industry.
Bridget has a Devon Rex and a Burmese, both one eyed kitties at home that keep her on her toes. 

Nicole Gill, DVN
Nicole graduated end of 2021 with her Diploma. Nicole enjoys that everyday is different, she thrives in helping sick or injured patients recover and getting them home to their family is a very rewarding part of her job. Nicole enjoys having cuddles with your pets and making them feel safe and comforted.

Cheryl, RVN
Cheryl has lived and worked in Whanganui most of her life. Her veterinary nursing career began in 2005 and since then she as continued to expand her skills in nursing. Cheryl has always loved animals, and this means she finds her line of work extremely rewarding. Cheryl’s passion and dedication shines through and always has a great bubbly personality.

Carolyn, Cert VN, Clinic Administrator
Carolyn has a National Certificate in Veterinary Nursing and Animal Care, and brings many years of experience to the team.
During these years she has enjoyed spending time in surgery, liasing with and building a rapport with clients, and taking care of their animals during the time they spend at out clinic.
Carolyn has more recently taken on the role of Clinic Administrator. She enjoys the diversity of this role whilst still being able to have contact with the furry visitors and their owners to the clinic.
